Jeff Risner is a plein air painter who works in oils and likes the French Impressionist School of painting and American realism. His subjects are large views of the rolling hills and fields of Ohio as well as lakes, trees and barns and studio subjects. While not trained in the formal sense Jeff has attended several artist workshops and learned from artists such as Carolyn Lewis, Chuck Marshall, Mark Hanson, Maddine Insalaco and Joe Vinson. He is currently President of the Ohio Plein Air Society and lives and paints around Athens County, Ohio. Many of his paintings are represented by Parks's Studio 4 art gallery in historic downtown Marietta, Ohio.


Jeff has taught computer technology courses at Ohio University, DeVry University, and Bangkok Business College. He has worked in the computer industry for 25 years and holds to masterís degrees. He lives in Athens, Ohio He is active in bring more art to Athens and providing art experiences to young people. He is the chairman of the 2011 and 2012 Ohio Plein Air Societyís annual out door painting competition for Athens, Ohio. Additional information is available at
